Sweet November, as some hunters refer to it, is when the highly anticipated whitetail rut creates the fire behind many hunters' passion for hunting, even if it takes sitting all day. I sought the expertise from Nate Hosie of Headhunters TV, who has been partnered with ScentLok for many years.
The popularity of hunting from elevated blinds has dramatically increased in recent years. Hunters are finding a better success rate by using a stationary blind to spend most of their hunts. Could this trend be only that - A trend? Or could a box blind be the simple answer to many hunters' worries about where they should hunt? Is a box blind the best place to hunt during the rut?
The rut was just starting to heat up and bucks were cruising. Like so many of my hunts during the rut, I was planning to sit all day. It was one of the first colder days of the season; temperatures were in the low thirties, but it was supposed to warm up a bit in the afternoon. I chose the ScentLok BE:1 Voyage Jacket and Pant for these conditions because the tailored, single-layer system has an ideal warmth-to-weight ratio.
